Otter joyfully taking his pills.

Anyone Who has ever tried to give a dog some medication in pill form will probably enjoy this short video. I have several allergy pills that Otter would refuse and recently had to add a fairly nasty antibiotic. There was no way that Otter would take them without hiding them in peanut butter.

I was listening to a show on the Animal Planet titled North Woods Law. It is a show about game wardens. This particular episode showed how they train the dogs to find spent cartridges and or shotgun wads. They made a game out of it and with their voice first hyped up the dogs. I tried it with Otter and he not only takes his pills but looks for more in his bowl.

In the video, I first place his food bowl on the kitchen floor. After he eats it he will bring the bowl back to my hand. Then the game begins. He starts trying to find the pills in his bowl and quickly eats them. If He misses one he will look for it.
